Engineering Manager - Spring Boot Proficiency - Payments Domain or Fintech or BFSI Only - Mumbai

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Engineering Manager (10–16 years experience) with expertise in Java-based backend systems and a proven track record in the Fintech or BFSI domain. This role involves leading and mentoring engineering teams, designing enterprise-scale solutions, and delivering secure, high-performance, and scalable payment platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of software engineers, providing technical direction and mentoring.
• Architect and design high-availability, low-latency systems for payment processing and BFSI applications.
• Oversee end-to-end SDLC including requirement analysis, design reviews, code quality, and deployment.
• Ensure adherence to secure coding standards (PCI-DSS compliance) and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across product, QA, and operations to deliver complex technical projects.
• Drive DevOps culture, implement CI/CD pipelines, and automate deployment processes.
• Conduct performance tuning and scalability reviews for Java microservices-based applications.
• Manage integration with APIs, third-party services, and transaction systems.
• Keep the team updated on emerging technologies relevant to BFSI and guide innovation.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10–16 years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Hibernate/JPA, and microservices architecture.
• Solid experience in payment systems, BFSI, or high-volume transaction platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven systems.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with SQL & NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) and API gateway integrations.
• Familiarity with DevOps, Git, Jenkins, monitoring tools (New Relic, AppDynamics).
• Strong experience in performance tuning and load testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Exposure to architectural design patterns and enterprise integration frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
