JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for end-to-end delivery of material handling solutions—including AGVs, manual MHEs, ASRS, and RGV systems—across India and UK operations, from requirement definition and technical specification through RFQ, technical evaluation, design, FAT, installation, and final handover. Drives solution efficiency, system integration, cross-functional alignment (CFT), supplier coordination, and adherence to project timelines.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Phase (Greenfield / Brown field)

  1. Define end-to-end material flow, movement strategy across RM, WIP, and FG at various Mfg. plants.
  2. Develop technical requirements and specifications for material handling systems (AGV, ASRS, RGV, MHEs)
  3. Drive RFQ process, technical evaluation, and supplier finalization
  4. Lead design reviews and ensure cross-functional alignment (Production, Quality, EHS, IT)
  5. Manage supplier execution across design, FAT, installation, commissioning, and handover
  6. Ensure timeline adherence, quality, and cost throughout project lifecycle
  7. Identify risks and drive proactive mitigation, including interface and integration readiness (MES/WMS/SAP)
  8. Ensure system commissioning, performance validation, and acceptance criteria are met prior to final handover


Factory Regular Operation:

  1. Ensure reliable and efficient operation of material handling systems aligned to production demand
  2. Drive performance and uptime of automation systems (AGV/ASRS/RGV)
  3. Maintain adherence to material flow and traceability standards
  4. Lead cross-functional issue resolution for flow disruptions
  5. Drive continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and productivity


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

Knowledge

  • Material handling systems (AGV, ASRS, RGV, conveyors, manual MHEs)
  • Material flow design, line-side supply, and storage strategies
  • Layout planning for shopfloor and warehouse (RM/FG)
  • AGV fleet management and integration with WMS/MES systems
  • MES interface and material traceability concepts

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • End-to-end material handling solution design and system integration
  • Converting requirements into technical specifications and execution plans
  • RFQ preparation, technical evaluation, and supplier selection
  • Supplier coordination from design through FAT, installation, and handover
  • Project execution with timeline and delivery ownership
  • Cross-functional stakeholder alignment across multiple functions (EHS, Maintenance, IT, Production)

Experience

  • 5–10 years in manufacturing / industrial / logistics engineering
  • End-to-end delivery of material handling or automation projects
  • Greenfield project execution (minimum 1–2 years mandatory)
  • Global Supplier management including RFQ, evaluation, FAT, and implementation


ROLE SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum requirement:

  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Integration knowledge of MES / SAP / WMS
  • AGV Planning & Field experience.
