Brief Job Overview

The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for fostering a positive work environment by managing employee relations programs, resolving workplace issues, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. This role serves as a trusted advisor to management and employees, promoting fairness, consistency, and engagement across the organization strengthening the compliance culture.

Additionally, USP’s People and Culture division, in partnership with the Equity Office, invests in leadership and workforce development to equip all employees with the skills to create high-performing, inclusive teams. This includes training in equitable management practices and tools to promote engaged, collaborative, and results-driven work environments.

The Employee Relations Manager Has The Following Responsibilities

  • Investigate and lead the people-related issues such as: behavior/conduct concerns, corrective actions for policy violations, employee grievances, and workplace conflicts in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Liaise with labor offices and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and manage audits or inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, regulations, and internal HR policies.
  • Provide guidance, in alignment with the HRBPs, to managers on addressing/resolving investigation outcomes, findings and recommendations, and related corrective and developmental actions.
  • Review and update employee relations policies and procedures as needed.
  • Partner with HRBPs to address complex employee relations cases, provide strategic solutions, embed compliance and ethical practices into organizational culture.
  • Collaborate with global and regional Compliance, Ethics, and Legal teams to ensure alignment with corporate standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Analyze ER data, highlight key trends and provide insights that lead to the formulation of recommendations that drive positive employee relations programs and process improvements.
  • Anchor / support the compliance awareness sessions & training on policies, risk management practices, and other emerging or specific issues to promote consistent understanding across teams.

Who is USP Looking For?

The Successful Candidate Will Have a Demonstrated Understanding Of Our Mission, Commitment To Excellence Through Inclusive And Equitable Behaviors And Practices, Ability To Quickly Build Credibility With Stakeholders, Along With The Following Competencies And Experience

  • Masters Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Masters in Social Work (Full-Time) in Human Resource Management.
  • 8+ years of experience in employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge in Indian Labour laws and compliance requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills .
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities .
  • Demonstrated capability to drive outcomes through collaboration and persuasion.

Additional Desired Preferences

  • Degree in Law is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrix environment.
