Job title-Embedded Software Design (motor controller)

Location- Pune

Experience- 2-4 yrs

Work mode-WFO

Must have-

Strong understanding of motor types: IPM, SPM, PMSM, BLDC, Axial Flux motors.
Knowledge of motor control algorithms:

Field Oriented Control (FOC)
PWM control
Maximum Torque Per Ampere (MTPA)
Field Weakening

Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control system design.
Programming skills in C/C++ and MATLAB.

About The Role-

We are seeking a Motor Control Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and validating control algorithms and embedded software for electric vehicle (EV) motor controllers. The role involves working with advanced motor control strategies, embedded systems, and vehicle propulsion integration to ensure efficient, reliable, and high-performance motor operation for EV and special-purpose applications.

Roles And Responsibilities-

Design and develop motor control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
Implement motor control algorithms on DSPs and microcontrollers using C/C++.
Develop control strategies for motors such as BLDC, PMSM, SRM, and Axial Flux motors.
Implement advanced control techniques such as Field Oriented Control (FOC), PWM, MTPA, and Field Weakening.
Design embedded systems including microcontroller selection, sensor interfacing, and hardware-software integration.
Integrate motor controller software with vehicle systems such as BMS, VCU, and propulsion components.
Perform simulation, testing, and validation in both simulated and real-world environments.
Optimize system performance for efficiency, reliability, cost, weight, and quality.
Conduct engineering analysis including DFMEA and Fault Tree Analysis.
Ensure compliance with automotive standards and functional safety requirements (ISO 26262).
Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
Track emerging trends in EV technologies, motor control algorithms, and embedded systems.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, ENTC, or related engineering field.
2-4 years of experience in motor controller design or embedded control systems.
