Job Title: E/M Inpatient and Outpatient Coder

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable E/M IP and OP Coder with minimum of 3 years of experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will specialize in coding for both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and accurate documentation of patient encounters.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze medical records to determine the appropriate E/M codes for inpatient and outpatient services.

Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes based on clinical documentation and coding guidelines.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation when necessary, promoting accurate coding.

Stay current with coding changes, regulations, and best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Participate in audits and provide feedback to improve documentation and coding practices.

Assist in training and mentoring junior coding staff as needed.

Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field preferred.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent coding certification are preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in E/M coding for inpatient and outpatient settings.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines.

Proficient in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
