Role Description The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Developer is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining EDI integrations that support UltraShip’s logistics and TMS platforms. This role includes configuring and mapping EDI transactions, particularly X12 standards, to align with business processes and partner requirements. The EDI Developer will monitor data flows, perform ongoing troubleshooting and issue resolution, and ensure secure and reliable file transfers using protocols such as FTP. Day-to-day activities involve collaborating with internal teams and external partners to define integration requirements, optimizing EDI workflows, and documenting technical specifications. The role also includes continuous improvement of EDI processes to enhance system performance, data accuracy, and overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards and solutions, including experience designing and maintaining EDI integrations.
• Hands-on experience with X12 transaction sets and related mapping, transformation, and validation processes.
• Proficiency in secure file transfer and communication protocols such as FTP and SFTP for exchanging EDI data.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing, resolving, and preventing EDI-related errors and data issues.
• Understanding of business process flows in logistics, supply chain, or SaaS environments and ability to translate them into technical EDI requirements.
• Experience with integration tools, EDI translators, APIs, or middleware platforms is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with databases, SQL, and scripting or programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python) for data handling and automation.
• Detail-oriented mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in logistics, transportation management systems, or SaaS-based products is a plus.

3 Years Experience with Product Company with EDI Focus is a Must.
