DESCRIPTION:
As an Electrical Engineer I at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll be part of a collaborative team developing advanced instrumentation that helps make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll work on projects ranging from laboratory equipment to analytical instruments, collaborating with R&D teams to design and optimize electrical and electronic systems. Your role will involve hands-on work with circuit design, prototyping, testing, and documentation while receiving mentorship to grow your technical expertise. REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree required, no prior experience required in electrical engineering
- Preferred Fields of Study: Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Strong foundation in electrical and electronics engineering fundamentals
- Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tools
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design
- Ability to read, create and modify electrical schematics and PCB layouts
- Knowledge of testing protocols and ability to use standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, voltmeters)
- Experience with communication protocols (USB, RS232, Ethernet, Modbus)
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (EMC, safety standards)
- Ability to perform component selection and BOM management
- Strong documentation skills for technical specifications and design artifacts
- Experience with SPICE modeling and circuit simulation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Fluency in English required
- Basic programming knowledge (C/C++) preferred
- Experience with FPGA design and HDL programming a plus
