Role Overview

Kuku TV – India's #1 micro-drama platform – is looking for a visionary content leader to own and shape the future of storytelling at scale. As Vice President, Content, you will be the creative and strategic force behind our content universe: defining what we make, how we make it, and how it performs.

This is one of the most consequential roles at Kuku TV. You will lead a large cross-functional content organisation spanning development, production, creative strategy, and language verticals – directly influencing millions of viewers across India and beyond. You will report to the Founder/CEO and work closely with our technology, data, and growth teams to build an AI- powered content engine unlike anything in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Define & Own the Content Vision

  • Set the creative and strategic direction for Kuku TV's content slate – across genres, languages, formats, and release cadences.
  • Build a differentiated point of view on what micro-drama audiences in India want, and translate that into a compelling content pipeline.
  • Champion original IP and exclusive storytelling formats that cement Kuku TV's category leadership.

Lead Content Development & Production

  • Own end-to-end content lifecycle – from brief and greenlight to production, delivery, and post-launch performance.
  • Build and manage a high-output production machine capable of delivering hundreds of shows per month across 6+ languages.
  • Partner with writers, directors, and production houses; maintain quality standards while scaling volume aggressively.
  • Drive adoption of AI-powered tools across the content stack – pitch, script, production, and post-production.

Drive Audience & Business Outcomes

  • Own content-led engagement, retention, and growth metrics – ensuring the slate delivers measurable business impact.
  • Work closely with the Data & Product teams to leverage audience insights, watch behaviour, and performance analytics to inform the content roadmap.
  • Build feedback loops between content performance and content decisions, operationalising a data-informed creative culture.

Build & Scale the Content Organisation

  • Lead a large, multi-functional team including creative development, scripting, production, and language verticals.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top creative talent; build a culture of ownership, speed, and

storytelling excellence.

  • Establish scalable processes, systems, and governance to support rapid growth without sacrificing quality.

Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem

  • Identify and develop relationships with top-tier writers, directors, talent, and production partners.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Integrations and Growth teams to build commercially viable content formats and sponsorship-friendly IP.
  • Represent Kuku TV in industry forums, talent communities, and content partnerships as a creative thought leader.

Requirements

Education

  • MBA or Master's degree from a top institution (IIMs, MICA, NIFT, or equivalent); undergraduate degree from a top institution (IITs, SRCC, LSR, NIFT, MICA, or equivalent).

Experience

  • 12–16 years of experience in content, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role at a digital media, OTT, or entertainment company.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and managing high-output content operations at scale.
  • Deep familiarity with the Indian content landscape – languages, audience sensibilities, formats, and regional storytelling traditions.
  • Prior experience managing large cross-functional teams (development, scripting, production) across multiple language markets.

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional creative judgment – the ability to identify, greenlight, and champion great stories.
  • Strong commercial acumen – understanding of how content drives business metrics, including engagement, retention, and revenue.
  • Data fluency – comfortable using performance analytics to guide editorial decisions.
  • Experience or strong familiarity with AI-assisted content workflows is a significant advantage.
  • Highly organised, systems-oriented thinker who can manage scale without losing creative sharpness.
