Director, Product Management

Actively Reviewing

Freight Tiger

Bengaluru Full-Time 10–20 yrs exp Posted 8 hours ago  · Apply by Sep 14, 2026
Role Overview

You will lead product management across Freight Tiger's TMS and Marketplace portfolios, covering FTL and PTL flows from Indent Bidding and Dispatch Planning through Track and Trace, EPOD, AI Control Tower, and Freight Invoicing. You will partner with the Founder, Engineering, Solutions, and Customer Success to convert business priorities into a sequenced roadmap and ship outcomes that move retention, ARR, and gross margin. You will manage a small group of Product Managers and raise the operating bar of the function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product strategy and roadmap
  • Co-author the multi-quarter roadmap with the Founder and Engineering leadership. You are not setting the company's product vision from scratch, you are sharpening it and making it executable.
  • Sequence investments across FTL, PTL, AI Control Tower, and Freight Invoicing based on revenue impact, customer commitments, and platform leverage.
  • Maintain a live view of competitive moves and emerging buyer expectations across enterprise shippers, LSPs, and carriers.
  • Business ownership
  • Own KPIs for the portfolio you lead. Adoption, retention, NRR contribution, and unit economics on platform usage.
  • Build crisp business cases for new modules and major bets. No initiative ships without a written hypothesis, success metric, and decision date.
  • Present portfolio health and trade-offs to the Founder and leadership in a standing operating rhythm.
  • Customer engagement
  • Spend meaningful time with enterprise accounts (think UltraTech, Tata Motors, JSW One class). You are expected to run discovery sessions, sit in escalations, and shape solutioning conversations alongside Solutions Architects.
  • Convert recurring customer themes into product bets rather than one-off customizations.
  • Team and craft
  • Manage and grow 3 to 5 Product Managers. Set the bar for written PRDs, problem framing, and prioritization discipline.
  • Establish operating rhythms that we currently run inconsistently. Quarterly planning, monthly portfolio review, weekly written updates.
  • Coach PMs out of feature-factory mode and into outcome ownership.
  • Cross-functional execution
  • Work with Engineering leadership to scope, sequence, and unblock delivery.
  • Partner with Sales and Pre-Sales on positioning, demo narrative, and pricing inputs for new modules.
  • Drive a tight handshake with Solutions on what is product versus what is implementation.
  • AI and platform leverage
  • Bring an AI-first lens to control tower workflows, exception handling, and back-office automation. We expect you to have a point of view on where agentic workflows belong and where they do not.
  • Evaluate build versus buy on AI and data tooling with Engineering.

What You Bring

  • 8 to 12 years in product management, with 3 to 5 years managing PMs.
  • Shipped enterprise B2B SaaS at scale. Logistics, supply chain, fleet, or warehousing experience is a strong plus. Marketplace exposure is useful.
  • Direct ownership of enterprise customer relationships, not just internal stakeholder management.
  • Comfortable reading a SQL query, a Superset dashboard, and a P and L line. You will be asked which of these moved last week.
  • Track record of taking over an existing product line and lifting it, not only zero-to-one launches.

Signals We Are Filtering For

  • You have run a portfolio, not just a feature area.
  • You have managed PMs through performance and growth conversations, not only assigned tasks.
  • You can name the last two product bets you killed and why.
  • You have worked closely with a founder and can hold your ground without becoming a yes-person.
  • You operate in Indian enterprise sales cycles and understand how slow procurement, security review, and integration realities shape the roadmap.

Not a Fit If.

  • Your strength is pure strategy decks without a delivery track record.
  • You have only worked in horizontal SaaS or consumer products with no enterprise depth.
