Role: Director / Senior Manager – Presales & Practice, Retail



The Purpose, Role Definition, and Requirements: The WHY and WHAT for a Director / Senior Manager – Presales & Practice:


Collabera is seeking a Presales & Practice Leader for the Retail vertical to drive solution strategy, presales execution, and proposal management across large and strategic retail opportunities. This role will report directly to the Vice President and will serve as a key partner to Sales, Delivery, and Practice teams to shape winning solutions and accelerate revenue growth.


The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on presales experience, deep retail domain expertise, and a background in global IT services organizations.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Presales & Solution Leadership

  • Own end-to-end presales and proposal development for retail opportunities, ensuring clear win themes, solution differentiation, and compliance
  • Lead strategy discussions with Sales, Practice, and Delivery teams to define account plans, deal strategies, and solution roadmaps
  • Partner closely with Sales to drive large deals, managed services engagements, and long-term retail transformation programs
  • Manage opportunity lifecycle: prospect → evaluate → propose → close



Retail Domain & Client Engagement

  • Provide subject matter expertise in retail technology, advising clients on architecture, modernization, and transformation strategies
  • Lead due diligence, solution definition, and roadmap development for complex retail engagements
  • Participate in all phases of customer opportunities including ideation, estimation, design, implementation planning, and transition to delivery
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders




Proposal & RFP Management

  • Lead and manage RFI/RFP responses, including functional and technical sections
  • Analyze RFP requirements, create outlines and storyboards, and ensure all compliance elements are met
  • Write, review, and refine proposal content to ensure consistency of messaging and articulation of win strategy
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for content, graphics, pricing inputs, and approvals
  • Manage proposal schedules, milestones, reviews, and final submissions
  • Conduct proposal kick-off meetings, reviews, and governance checkpoints



Practice & Content Development

  • Support development and maintenance of internal content assets including:
  • Retail capability statements
  • Solution decks and presentations
  • Case studies, past performance, and reusable proposal content
  • Contribute to retail practice growth, positioning, and thought leadership




Retail experience is mandatory. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • E-commerce platforms & omnichannel retail
  • Supply chain, merchandising, and inventory systems
  • Store operations, POS, and digital store technologies
  • Data, analytics, AI/ML for retail
  • Retail cloud modernization (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • (Robotics and automation experience is a plus, but not required.



Essential Education, Skills, and Environment:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8–12+ years of experience across presales, delivery, and/or practice leadership within the retail vertical
  • Proven success managing presales functions and large IT services proposals
  • Strong experience working in global IT services or consulting organizations
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and solutioning capabilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong customer and quality focus
