Job Description
A well known international events expo company is looking for Director or Senior Director of Corporate Strategy & Business Development to partner directly with the CEO with driving strategic growth across one of the world's largest pop culture convention portfolios.
This highly visible role sits at the intersection of strategy, corporate development, and new business initiatives, supporting leadership on key priorities including M&A, strategic partnerships, new product launches, and long-term portfolio expansion.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in corporate strategy, consulting, investment banking, or corporate development, with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Executive Partnership
- Partner closely with the Fan Expo CEO and executive leadership team to define and execute long-term strategic initiatives across the global events portfolio.
- Develop strategic frameworks, growth initiatives, and new business models designed to expand the Fan Expo brand across entertainment, media, and fandom communities.
- Prepare executive presentations and strategic materials for senior leadership and board-level discussions.
Corporate Development & M&A
- Identify, evaluate, and execute M&A opportunities, including market scanning, financial analysis, due diligence, and integration planning.
- Support acquisition strategy and integration of newly acquired brands and properties into the Fan Expo ecosystem.
Partnerships & New Business Development
- Lead development of strategic partnerships with entertainment studios, talent agencies, content creators, and major global brands.
- Identify and launch new revenue streams, product offerings, and event experiences that enhance fan engagement and portfolio growth.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with internal teams across content, talent, marketing, operations, and commercial functions to execute strategic initiatives.
- Lead special projects that drive operational improvements, revenue growth, and audience expansion across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- 8-12+ years of experience in corporate strategy, consulting, investment banking, or corporate development.
- Experience supporting M&A transactions, partnerships, or strategic growth initiatives.
- Strong financial modeling, market analysis, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Experience working directly with executive leadership and presenting strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
Preferred Background
- Experience in media, entertainment, events, or consumer brands.
- Background in management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc.), investment banking, or corporate strategy.
- Passion for pop culture, gaming, entertainment, or live events.
