Job Description – Partner, Investment Banking (Industrial Sector)

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Partner – Investment Banking to lead and scale the Industrial sector practice, with a primary focus on deal origination and client coverage. The role will involve driving business development, building deep relationships with promoters and institutional investors, and originating high-quality M&A and capital raising opportunities.

The candidate will play a strategic leadership role in expanding the firm’s presence in the industrial ecosystem, while also overseeing execution and mentoring teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deal Origination & Business Development

• Drive origination of M&A, private equity, structured finance, and capital market transactions in the industrial sector
• Build and maintain relationships with promoters, corporate groups, PE/VC funds, family offices, and institutional investors
• Identify sector trends, strategic opportunities, and actionable deal pipelines
• Leverage existing network to generate proprietary deal flow

2. Client Relationship Management

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on strategic transactions, capital structuring, and growth initiatives
• Develop long-term relationships with CXOs, founders, and decision-makers
• Maintain active dialogue with investors to align deal opportunities

3. Transaction Leadership

• Provide oversight on end-to-end deal execution, including structuring, negotiations, and closure
• Guide teams on financial modeling, valuation, and transaction strategy
• Lead key discussions with stakeholders, including clients, investors, and advisors

4. Sector Leadership – Industrials

• Build and strengthen the firm’s franchise across industrial sectors including:
• Manufacturing
• Automotive & Auto Components
• Infrastructure & Capital Goods
• Engineering & EPC
• Develop sector insights, market intelligence, and thought leadership

5. Team Building & Mentorship

• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of bankers (VPs, Associates, Analysts)
• Drive a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture within the team

Candidate Profile

• 15–20+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or institutional equities
• Strong track record of deal origination and closure in M&A and capital raising transactions
• Established relationships with industrial sector corporates and investors
• Deep understanding of industrial value chains and sector dynamics
• Demonstrated ability to independently source and execute transactions
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with revenue ownership orientation

Educational Qualifications

• MBA from a reputed institute / CA / CFA (preferred)
