Title: Director of Financial Planning & Analysis
Position Summary
- The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will lead FP&A activities for the EdgeConneX and AdaniConneX joint venture in India, supporting one of the fastest-growing data center platforms in the region. This role will be based in Ahmedabad and will report to the SVP of FP&A for EdgeConneX.
- The Director will serve as a key finance partner to the India leadership team, EdgeConneX corporate finance, AdaniConneX stakeholders, development, construction, operations, commercial, and investment teams. The role will be responsible for financial planning, forecasting, management reporting, business analysis, capital planning, performance tracking, and strategic decision support across a rapidly scaling hyperscale data center portfolio.
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting
- Lead the annual budgeting, long-range planning, and rolling forecast processes for the India joint venture, ensuring alignment with EdgeConneX global FP&A standards and local business priorities.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models covering revenue, operating expenses, EBITDA, cash flow, capital expenditures, project-level returns, debt service, and equity requirements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for EdgeConneX leadership, AdaniConneX stakeholders, the joint venture leadership team, and board-level review.
- Analyze actual performance against budget, forecast, prior periods, and investment case assumptions, identifying key drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Establish and maintain financial KPIs and dashboards for the India business, including utilization, contracted capacity, revenue backlog, cost performance, project returns, power costs, operating margins, and capital deployment.
- Serve as the primary FP&A partner for the India joint venture leadership team, providing financial insight to support strategic, commercial, operational, and investment decisions.
- Partner with development, construction, commercial, operations, procurement, tax, treasury, accounting, and legal teams to support data center growth initiatives across India.
- Support business cases for new data center developments, expansions, customer deployments, land acquisitions, power infrastructure investments, and major commercial contracts.
- Provide financial analysis for customer pricing, lease economics, contract structures, power pass-through mechanisms, inflation escalation, and long-term profitability.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for senior executives and non-finance stakeholders.
- Lead financial planning and analysis for significant capital investment programs across the India data center portfolio.
- Track project-level capital expenditures against approved budgets, construction schedules, investment committee approvals, and original underwriting assumptions.
- Partner with development and construction teams to monitor cost-to-complete, contingency usage, change orders, procurement impacts, and schedule-related financial risks.
- Assess project returns, including IRR, NPV, payback period, EBITDA contribution, cash yield, and return on invested capital.
- Support capital allocation decisions and funding requirements for the joint venture, including equity contributions, debt financing assumptions, and cash flow planning.
- Help establish scalable FP&A processes, controls, reporting standards, and decision-making frameworks appropriate for a fast-growing hyperscale infrastructure platform.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, engineering, or a related field; MBA, CA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment analysis, infrastructure, real estate, data centers, telecom, energy, construction, or technology-enabled infrastructure.
- Strong financial modeling skills, including experience with long-range planning, project finance, capex modeling, cash flow forecasting, and investment return analysis.
- Experience supporting capital-intensive businesses with complex development, construction, or infrastructure investment cycles.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, variance analysis, and business performance management.
- Experience working in a multinational company, joint venture, private equity-backed business, or high-growth infrastructure platform preferred.
- Knowledge of Indian business practices, tax, regulatory, accounting, and infrastructure development environments preferred.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required; experience with ERP, EPM, BI, or planning tools such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Anaplan, Adaptive, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms preferred.
- Fluency in English required; additional Indian languages are a plus.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with clarity, confidence, and precision.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially minded.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Strong business partnering skills and comfort working across cultures, time zones, and stakeholder groups.
- High integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial and commercial information.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, capital-intensive environment.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to build processes, improve reporting, and drive accountability.
- Collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence decision-making.
- Experience in data centers, digital infrastructure, hyperscale cloud infrastructure, telecom towers, fiber, renewable energy, logistics infrastructure, commercial real estate, or other large-scale infrastructure sectors.
- Experience with joint venture governance, shareholder reporting, investment committee processes, or private capital-backed platforms.
- Familiarity with project finance, debt facilities, lender reporting, and capital deployment planning.
- Experience supporting businesses with large construction pipelines, long-term customer contracts, and multi-phase development projects.
- Exposure to U.S.-based multinational reporting standards and global FP&A processes.
