Job Summary
Caterpillar is seeking a PIM Business Analyst to support the Marketing Content Product Management team by managing and supporting work delivered through the Product Information Management (PIM) development team. In this role, the Business Analyst will work closely with business partners, product owners, and engineering teams to understand user needs, identify pain points, and translate insights into clear, actionable requirements that improve authoring experiences and enable downstream consuming applications.
Key Responsibilities
Elicit, analyze, and validate business requirements for enhancements to the Product Information Management (PIM) platform.
Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to understand user needs and operational pain points.
Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Define and support test cases and assist with validation during QA and UAT cycles.
Support backlog refinement activities and manage dependencies across PIM initiatives.
Analyze and document PIM processes, including product and parts data modeling, attribute management, taxonomy, workflows, and governance.
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered as intended.
Create and maintain high‑quality documentation such as process flows, data mappings, and functional specifications.
Support day‑to‑day collaboration with a globally distributed team, with a strong focus on alignment with the India‑based PIM development team.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders on scope, risks, dependencies, and delivery status.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise digital platforms.
Strong Experience In Requirements Gathering, Analysis, And Documentation.
Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery environments.
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) and/or Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms.
Familiarity with Informatica Product 360 (PIM) or similar tools.
Experience working with data‑intensive systems, integrations, and data quality concepts.
Experience working with globally distributed teams.
