As part of the DevOps team at Paytm, you will: ? Architect and operate a resilient, secure, and highly scalable cloud-native platform supporting massive traffic. ? Drive automation across deployment, monitoring, incident management, and operational workflows for maximum efficiency and reliability. ? Lead initiatives to scale infrastructure for rapidly increasing demand, solving complex problems that come with one of India?s highest traffic platforms. ? Develop a strong analytical mindset within the team to enable data-driven decisions and operational excellence. ? Champion a Quality-First culture and ensure best practices across the DevOps lifecycle. ? Collaborate closely with engineering teams to seamlessly bring new features and services into production. Job Description: ? The DevOps Lead takes ownership of the organization?s toughest technical challenges and drives technical excellence across teams. You will work closely with a senior engineering manager to execute the organization?s vision for a highly reliable, secure, and scalable platform. ? A DevOps Lead is someone who cares deeply about the technical foundation of operations, ensures that every system runs smoothly, and proactively addresses issues before they impact customers. The ideal candidate has deep expertise across cloud, infrastructure, and automation, can identify and bridge gaps between development and operations, and consistently drives improvements in stability, performance, and efficiency. Our Tech Stack: ? Kubernetes, Linux, Helm charts, Prometheus, Grafana, Terraform, Ansible, GitOps, ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Jenkins, Java, Groovy, Golang, Python, VPC, EKS, ECR, EC2, Load Balancers, S3, Route53, Elasticsearch, Akamai, Postgres, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, Kafka, Aerospike, Redis. Technical Expectations: ? 5?7 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform, or Cloud Engineering roles (lead experience preferred). ? Educational qualification: BE / B.Tech / MSc in Computer Science or MCA. ? Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm charts, containers, and cloud- native deployments (minimum 3+ years). ? Deep experience with automation using Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps tooling. ? Strong understanding of systems, networks, OS internals, and troubleshooting at scale. ? Ability to write scripts/tools in Bash, Python, Groovy, or Golang to solve operational problems and automate workflows. ? Hands-on experience with GenAI tools/frameworks leveraged for operational intelligence ? such as automated RCA generation, anomaly detection pipelines, observability insights, LLM-powered runbooks/playbooks, or infra-as-code review. ? Experience running Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Thanos at high scale, managing millions of metrics per second. ? Exposure to multiple tools from our tech stack is desirable, but the ability to learn quickly, adapt, and drive improvements is valued most. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
