Most organizations ask you to support a single technology stack. We expect you to unify and refine multiple stacks without disrupting operations. You'll take ownership of everything from infrastructure transitions to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database migration projects, and cost reduction initiatives. This includes identifying and resolving what's malfunctioning, orchestrating and executing smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI/ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of operational work. What You Will Be Doing Orchestrating and executing sophisticated infrastructure transformations, including transitions from legacy environments to AWS cloud platforms and lift-and-shift migration projects Architecting and deploying monitoring strategies and creating automation for monitoring systems, software deployment processes, and operational workflows Conducting system monitoring activities, managing system backups, responding to incidents, executing database migrations, configuring database systems, and optimizing costs What You Won?t Be Doing Spending time in Jira and prolonged status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not simply document issues Preserving obsolete systems indefinitely - you'll be authorized to implement substantive improvements Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate fixes during incident resolution Operating within restrictive technical silos - this position demands both comprehensive and specialized knowledge Justifying budget for essential infrastructure improvements - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment DevOps Engineer Key Responsibilities Advance reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure throughout our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices. Basic Requirements Extensive AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our core platform - experience solely with other cloud providers is insufficient) Proficient programming capabilities in Python or JavaScript for developing automation and tooling solutions Demonstrated experience managing and migrating production databases across multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL) Expert-level Docker/Kubernetes proficiency Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation) Linux systems administration proficiency About Trilogy Hundreds of software businesses run on the Trilogy Business Platform. Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
