DevOps / Platform Engineer

Austin, TX | Hybrid (4 days in-office, Wednesdays remote)

$140,000 – $180,000 base salary + competitive equity

My client is a fast-growing fintech company building unified digital communications and payment infrastructure at scale. They are looking for a DevOps / Platform Engineer to join a lean, high-impact platform team and own the health, stability, and security of a system processing billions of log messages annually.

This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable wearing both DevOps and SRE hats, thriving at startup pace, and bringing deep AWS expertise to a regulated environment where reliability directly drives revenue.

What You Will Be Doing

• Monitor system health and manage EC2 capacity, disk space, and memory to support rapidly growing traffic (projecting 1B+ messages into Elasticsearch this year)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting to accelerate delivery velocity
• Support the introduction of new production technologies including Kafka, hardening the system and preparing for expansion
• Perform security audits, investigate bad actors, manage alerts, and contribute to SOC 2 Level 2 compliance efforts
• Triage production issues alongside the engineering team, diagnosing root causes and implementing durable fixes across the AWS stack

What They Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or SRE scaling AWS infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Linux, and scripting languages (Python and/or Go)
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Docker, and observability tooling such as CloudWatch
• Experience working in regulated environments and an understanding of security best practices
• Someone who has seen systems at scale, understands trade-offs, and can hit the ground running

Compensation and Benefits

• $140,000 – $180,000 base salary
• Competitive equity with flexible equity/salary trade-off options based on preference
• Rapid salary review within 3–6 months based on performance
