Devops Engineer, Hosted Execution (HEX)

Description

The Hosted Execution (HEX) team is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join and deliver strategic goals for Amazon Global Infrastructure Runtime for Developers (GRID) systems. This is a contract position and is a great opportunity to join our team and manage/build tech solutions that empower our customers. You will be responsible for customer support, migrations, troubleshooting, maintenance, customer engagement and identifying opportunities for automation to improve the developer productivity. If you feel excited by the challenge of setting the course for large company wide initiatives, supporting and managing customer facing products across amazon, this may be the next big career move for you. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have good verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. You must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. You must be able to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development, or 2+ years of technical support experience
• Experience scripting in modern program languages
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development
• Experience troubleshooting & maintaining hardware & software RAID
• Experience with REST web services, XML, JSON
