Role: The Developer Java / Data Migration reports to the AVP, Architecture & System Integration and works closely with the Data Migration team. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing large datasets of varying formats for varying project requirements. Support complete Data migration phases like Requirement analysis, data analysis, extraction of source data Audit and transformation of data by writing programs needed, loading transformed files into new target system and reconciliation processes ??? Your Day with Equisoft: ???? Gather requirements, design, develop, and enhance a custom data transformation program Java. Support the setup and ongoing programming needs for conversion projects Ability to review and understand source and target system file structures to support project team needs during conversion projects Ability to use remote networking: monitor, enhance & maintain customer code and scripts Contribute to Data Mapping, code generation application and transformation tasks Use industry standard file transfer software Communicate with EQUISOFT employees and business users (Project Managers, Business Analysts? and Subject Matter Experts) to refine business requirements for customer data transformation programs Create technical documentation ?? Requirements: ???? Technical??? Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or technical field Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant and technical experience in data migration development Experience in Java programming, J2EE, OO design/analysis, coding, unit testing and Oracle/MS SQL server SQL Experience in performance tuning of the SQLs Experience in Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology SQL and general database concepts Strong Working knowledge of mainframe and PC based tools & languages Experience working with agile methodology Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written)???? Soft Skills??? Strong sense of organization and prioritizing? Analytical and problem-solving skills????? Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information????? Ability to troubleshoot communication, network, and database issues in Windows, Unix/Linux, and mainframe environments Working knowledge of Life Insurance Policy Administration Systems Information/data analysis and data modeling XML technologies and standards (XLS, DTD, XSD, etc.) Azure DevOps, JIRA & Confluence experience Experience with database administration & design: Oracle and SQL Server Migration experience in the insurance industry (policy administration or agent) Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2 Database platforms Application Server (WebSphere, WebLogic) ????
