Role Description Hiring Locations: Chennai, Trivandrum, Kochi Role Description We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to join HealthProof?s Engineering Platform Delivery team. The candidate will work under minimal guidance to design, develop, optimize, and maintain database solutions for healthcare payer systems. The role involves collaborating with health plan clients, third-party vendors, and cross-functional teams (onshore and offshore) to deliver high-quality database solutions in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have strong database development skills, experience in healthcare IT (preferred), and the ability to work independently while mentoring junior developers. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain database systems for healthcare payer applications. Build database objects following standards (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes). Develop and optimize SQL/T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Manage database versioning, quality assurance, and troubleshooting of SQL environments. Work with Agile tools/methodologies including JIRA, SCRUM, Git, BitBucket. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure architecture compliance. Document development work and maintain knowledge repositories. Mentor junior developers and provide constructive feedback. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, coding standards, and security guidelines. Participate in release management, defect management, and production support. Mandatory Skills Strong expertise in MySQL (development, optimization, performance tuning). Hands-on experience in database object creation (tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, indexes). Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL coding, debugging, and testing. Knowledge of database versioning and performance troubleshooting. Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts and DBMS tools. Proficiency with Agile development tools (JIRA, Git, BitBucket). Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. Good-to-Have Skills Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or other RDBMS. Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and Graph databases (e.g., Neo4J, Janus). Knowledge of healthcare IT applications, Medicare, and Medicaid. Experience with architecture governance and software solution design. Familiarity with Lucidchart or other visual design tools for solution documentation.
