Payments is an interesting engineering challenge in itself with requirements of low latency, transactional guarantees, security, and high scalability. When we add credit and engagement into the mix, the challenge becomes even more interesting with underwriting and recommendation algorithms working on large data sets. We have eliminated the current call center, sales agent, and SMS-based processes with a mobile app that puts the customers in complete control. To stay agile, the entire stack is built on the cloud with modern technologies. ROLE: Developer Experience Engineer Job Location: OneCard - West Bay, HQ5X+786, Shambhu Vihar Society, Pallod Farms II, Nankude Vasti, Aundh, Pune, Maharashtra 411045, India What you will do: Design, develop, and maintain internal developer tools and platforms to improve the engineering productivity and operational excellence. Develop and support containerized environments with Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes, enabling scalable and consistent application deployments. Integrate and customize developer experience platforms like Backstage to streamline developer workflows and centralize tooling and documentation. Collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to understand needs and deliver solutions that improve developer workflows and user experience. Manage API gateways such as Kong, Tyk, or Apache Camel to facilitate secure and efficient service communication and integration across platforms. Advocate for best practices in software development, platform engineering, and developer experience within the organization. What are we looking for : 2-5 years of professional experience in systems engineering, internal tooling, platform engineering, software development, and cloud infrastructure. Proficient programming skills with Python, Go, Node.js, and React for both backend and frontend development needs. Hands-on experience with containerization technologies including Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes (K8s). Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD. Working knowledge of developer experience platforms such as Backstage. Strong practical knowledge of AWS cloud platform and services. In-depth understanding of Linux system internals, networking, security principles, and strong systems debugging experience. Experience managing API gateways like Kong, Tyk, or Apache Camel. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver impactful developer experience improvements.
