Job Description – Desktop & Asset Management Engineer

Job Title: Desktop & Asset Management Engineer

Location: Hyderabad

Experience:Minimum 3 to 4 years in Desktop Support and Asset Management within IT Infrastructure

Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Desktop & Asset Management Engineer to provide end-user support and manage IT assets. This role involves troubleshooting hardware/software issues, maintaining accurate asset inventories, and ensuring end-user devices are compliant and fully functional.

Key Responsibilities

Desktop Support

  • Provide technical support for desktops/laptops via ITSM Tool (SNOW) and in-person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware failures (components, battery, screens).
  • Install, configure, and update OS, drivers, and applications.
  • Set up new devices (imaging, configuration, user profiles).
  • Troubleshoot and configure VPN and O365 issues.
  • Provide support for OKTA authentication (MFA, SSO, user access issues).
  • Troubleshoot Global Protect VPN connectivity and client-related issues.
  • Manage device provisioning, compliance, and policies using Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager.
  • Provide Mac device support and management using JAMF (if applicable).
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.

Asset Management

  • Maintain up-to-date asset inventory and support records.
  • Ensure compliance with asset lifecycle processes (procurement to disposal).
  • Track device compliance, health, and ownership via Intune
  • Collaborate with the IT team on process improvements.

General & ITSM

  • Participate in on-call rotation and weekend change schedules.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders.
  • Follow ITIL processes and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong desktop support skills (hardware troubleshooting, OS installs, imaging).
  • Experience managing endpoints via Microsoft Intune (device compliance, policies, Autopilot).
  • Exposure to OKTA (SSO, MFA, identity management).
  • Experience supporting Global Protect VPN.
  • Good understanding of IT asset management practices.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework.
  • Experience with remote support tools.

Preferred Skills

  • ITIL certification.
  • Experience with JAMF (Mac device management).
  • Exposure to endpoint security & compliance tools.

Other Requirements

  • Flexible to work in 24x7 rotational shifts, on-call, and weekend schedules.
