  • Develop designs for Distribution Boards, Socket Distribution Boards, Power Distribution Boards, Switch Socket Assemblies, and other industrial electrical products
  • Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams, and layout drawings
  • Develop product configurations based on customer requirements, technical specifications, and application needs
  • Ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing, quality, and customer requirements
  • Review and modify designs based on technical discussions and customer feedback

Component Selection & BOM Preparation
  • Select suitable switchgear and electrical components, including MCBs, MCCBs, ACBs, busbars, industrial sockets, terminals, glands, protection systems, and other accessories
  • Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed material specifications
  • Evaluate component alternatives based on technical suitability, availability, cost, and project requirements
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of technical specifications across drawings, BOMs, and costing documents

Costing & Estimation
  • Prepare detailed project costing and estimation sheets based on technical requirements
  • Calculate material, component, manufacturing, and other applicable project costs
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Vendors to obtain updated pricing and commercial information
  • Evaluate different design and component options to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising technical requirements
  • Review project costs and support efforts towards maintaining targeted project margins
  • Maintain and update costing databases, component prices, and estimation records

Technical Proposals & Sales Support
  • Provide technical support to the Sales and Business Development teams during the inquiry and proposal stages
  • Assist in preparing technical proposals, quotations, tender submissions, and bid documentation
  • Review customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions
  • Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and customer meetings whenever required
  • Respond to technical queries and provide necessary clarifications during the proposal and order stages

Manufacturing & Execution Support
  • Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Quality, and other internal teams for smooth project execution
  • Provide engineering support during manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and testing
  • Address design-related queries and technical issues during the production process
  • Review manufacturing feedback and incorporate relevant improvements into future designs
  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of design revisions

Standards & Compliance
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC, IS, and customer-specific standards
  • Maintain accurate technical and engineering documentation
  • Ensure adherence to defined design, quality, and engineering processes
  • Stay updated with developments in electrical components, switchgear systems, enclosure technologies, and relevant industry standards

Qualification & Experience
  • B.E., B.Tech., or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • 3–8 years of relevant experience in electrical design, panel design, costing, estimation, or industrial electrical assemblies
  • Experience in Distribution Boards, Socket Distribution Boards, PCCs, MCCs, and related electrical products would be preferred
