Job Title: Design Consultant – AI Graphics & Visual Design

Location: Mumbai (onsite role)

Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (3months)


Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced AI Design Consultant to support the establishment of BCCL's AI-powered creative capabilities. This is a 3-month onsite consulting engagement focused on delivering high-quality visual design, accelerating AI-assisted creative workflows, and helping establish scalable design systems across campaigns, branded content, and digital platforms.

The consultant will work closely with the Head – AI Creative and cross-functional teams to deliver priority business initiatives, pilot AI-enabled design workflows, and drive the creation of high-quality visual assets across campaigns, social media, print, branded content, events, digital marketing, editorial storytelling, and advertiser-led communication. Working closely with Brand, Response, Times Experiences, Editorial, and Product & Technology teams, the incumbent will build scalable AI-assisted design workflows that improve creative agility, production efficiency, adaptation speed, and experimentation.

The role will also help establish an AI-native design ecosystem by integrating capabilities across image generation, creative adaptation, layout systems, visual enhancement, motion-assisted design, brand templatization, and multi-format asset production.


Key Responsibilities

1. AI-Led Visual Design & Creative Development

  • Lead end-to-end creation of AI-assisted visual creatives across campaigns, social media, print, branded content, events, presentations, infographics, editorial visuals, and digital assets.
  • Translate briefs into compelling visual concepts through strong design thinking, storytelling, audience understanding, and AI-enabled creative execution.
  • Maintain high standards of originality, design quality, visual coherence, and brand consistency while improving speed and scalability through AI.
  • Develop distinctive visual identities and modern design approaches that strengthen BCCL brands across touchpoints.

2. AI-Enabled Design Workflows & Creative Systems

  • Build and operationalize AI-assisted workflows across image generation, enhancement, layouting, adaptation, localization, resizing, typography exploration, motion-assisted design, and asset optimization.
  • Leverage AI tools to automate repetitive tasks and accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
  • Develop reusable creative systems including templates, prompt libraries, brand kits, asset repositories, visual frameworks, and modular design structures.
  • Identify opportunities to redesign traditional creative production through scalable and adaptive AI-enabled design practices.

3. Multi-Platform Creative Adaptation & Brand Consistency

  • Drive adaptation of visual assets across print, digital, social, mobile, events, advertiser ecosystems, and platform-specific environments.
  • Ensure creatives are optimized for audience behavior, channel requirements, and platform-native consumption.
  • Build modular systems enabling rapid multilingual adaptation, campaign extensions, and audience-specific creative variants.
  • Maintain cohesive visual identity across integrated campaigns and experiences.

4. Stakeholder Partnership & Commercial Creative Support

  • Collaborate with Brand, Response, Times Experiences, Editorial, and New Business teams to deliver impactful design-led communication.
  • Translate business requirements, campaign goals, and storytelling needs into effective AI-assisted visual narratives.
  • Partner with Product & Technology teams to align AI design capabilities and workflow evolution with business priorities.

5. Creative Governance & Quality Standards

  • Establish design standards, review processes, and quality benchmarks for AI-assisted output.
  • Conduct structured creative reviews covering aesthetics, typography, hierarchy, storytelling, usability, and platform relevance.
  • Ensure responsible use of AI-generated assets aligned with copyright, ethics, authenticity, and brand safety requirements.
  • Balance automation with human creative judgment to preserve originality and strategic thinking.

6. Innovation, Experimentation & Capability Building

  • Track emerging developments across AI-powered design, generative visuals, creative automation, motion-assisted design, and digital content ecosystems.
  • Drive experimentation with new creative formats and adaptive design systems to improve engagement and production scalability.
  • Conduct internal demos, workshops, and capability-building initiatives to strengthen AI adoption.
  • Capture and scale learnings, best practices, and successful design approaches across teams.


Experience & Educational Qualifications


  • 7–10 years of experience in visual design, graphic design, creative communication, branded content, digital design, or integrated creative environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-impact visual storytelling and brand-led creative work across formats and platforms.
  • Proven experience delivering creative solutions for brands, advertisers, agencies, media organizations, digital platforms, or content-led businesses.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered design tools across image generation, visual enhancement, creative adaptation, layout development, typography, prompt-led design, motion-assisted design, and automated asset production.
  • Experience across social media, campaigns, print communication, event branding, presentations, editorial visuals, and platform-native ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to combine creative excellence with scalable, technology-enabled workflows.
  • Experience in media, digital content, advertising, creative agencies, branded content studios, or creator ecosystems preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Design, Digital Media, Advertising, or related disciplines.
  • Certifications or practical exposure in AI design tools, generative AI, creative automation, motion design, or digital visual communication are advantageous.
  • Practical expertise in contemporary design ecosystems and AI-assisted workflows will be valued alongside academic credentials.
  • Portfolio quality, creative thinking, visual storytelling capability, adaptability, and demonstrated work impact will carry significant weight.

  • Strong ability to conceptualize and deliver impactful visual creatives through design excellence, storytelling, brand understanding, and AI-enabled execution.
  • Deep understanding of AI-powered design ecosystems including image generation, prompt workflows, layout systems, typography, visual enhancement, adaptation, motion-assisted design, and scalable asset production.
  • Curiosity and experimentation mindset with continuous exploration of emerging tools and visual trends.
  • Strong understanding of brand identity systems, audience behavior, and multi-platform communication requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate across Brand, Editorial, Response, Marketing, Product & Technology, and external creative ecosystems.
  • Strong eye for aesthetics, layout hierarchy, typography, originality, visual consistency, and audience impact while maintaining high creative standards.
