Desired Industry / Functional Exposure Knowledge of Glass Manufacturing process, Float process, FMEA, PQCT, PPAP, MSA, SPC; having problem solving techniques, Quality system Knowledge, EMS, OHSAS

Reporting to Manager/Senior Manager- QA

Reported by Assistant Manager/Senior Executive/Group Leaders/Shift Supervisor- QA/Process Quality/Customer Support

Section 2 : Job Purpose

Manage smooth & efficient functioning of quality department by working on continuous quality management and product/process quality assurance to provide maximum satisfaction to the customers as per their requirements.

Section 3: Areas of Responsibility

( A specific, permanent area that requires the role holder to be responsible for taking decisions, delivering results or carrying out a significant amount of activity)

Responsibility Heads Key Responsibilities/KRAs

Quality management - Review test and inspection system for incoming, in-process and outgoing materials

  • Ensure implementation & maintenance of Environment management system
  • Facilitate product certification as per required National / International Standard
  • Ensure implementation & maintenance of quality assurance system in existing and new processes / product / activity
  • Establish calibration system & measurement system analysis as per control plans

Product and Process quality assurance - Facilitate PPAP approval of BOM items along with CFT

  • Identify and review the relevant acceptance criteria for incoming, in process and final stage
  • Facilitate inspection of material activities at incoming / intermediate / final stage
  • Identify, record and decide on disposition of non-conforming product

Customer satisfaction - Ensure maximizing customer satisfaction by effective functioning of the processes

  • Initiate, analyse and monitor corrective / preventive actions on in-process, customer product / quality system concerns & feedback of CSA

Quality Assurance - Prohibit any activity having deviation in laid down Quality Assurance System / Standards

  • Ensure to understand and approve quality trend data and approve process flow diagrams, control plans & FMEA’s

Budgeting - Ensure preparation of annual and monthly quality budget for consumables, overheads and capital expenditure

  • Review and monitor budgets and ensure timeliness for review and reporting
  • Analyse variance reporting between actuals and budget

Safety - Monitor & implement SOP's for safety to build safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety norms

  • Monitor safety performance index, continuous training on safety norms and safety audit score

Manpower Development - Develop & Follow required skillset in department members as per roles and responsibility;

  • Track competency mapping score, planned and actual training hours, employees' involvement, number of QC circles and PDCA's
  • Support & monitor training schedule of all Q.A staff and work on raw material, final product standard, Inspection & Testing and customer specific quality requirements
