Speciality Chemicals: The Specialty Chemical business of Jubilant Ingrevia manufactures Pyridine, Picolines and its forward integration derivatives, which finds application in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, solvents, metal finishes, fine chemicals, semiconductors etc.

The Position:

Job Summary:

To lead and manage all mechanical engineering and execution activities for greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective, and quality completion of projects in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and statutory requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Management
• Lead mechanical scope planning, execution strategy, and resource planning for projects.
• Prepare and review project schedules, manpower planning, and execution methodologies.
• Coordinate with process, civil, electrical, instrumentation, safety, and procurement teams.
• Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to meet timelines and budgets.
• Mechanical Engineering & Execution
• Overall responsibility for erection and installation of static and rotary equipment such as reactors, columns, heat exchangers, tanks, pumps, compressors, agitators, etc.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, P&IDs, layouts, specifications, and standards.
• Supervise piping fabrication and erection, pipe racks, supports, welding, NDT, testing, insulation, and painting.
• Resolve site engineering issues and provide technical guidance to execution teams.
• Vendor & Contractor Management
• Lead technical evaluation and finalization of mechanical vendors and contractors.
• Coordinate inspections, FAT, SAT, and expediting of equipment.
• Manage contractor performance, productivity, safety, and quality.
• Approve BOQs, measurements, variations, and contractor bills.
• Quality, Safety & Statutory Compliance
• Ensure strict adherence to safety rules, permit systems, and HSE plans.
• Implement QA/QC systems, ITPs, and ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate statutory inspections such as boiler inspector, pressure vessels, lifting equipment, and third-party agencies.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, IS, and other applicable codes.
• Commissioning & Project Handover
• Lead mechanical pre-commissioning, commissioning, and trial runs.
• Coordinate punch list preparation and closure.
• Ensure preparation of as-built drawings and final project documentation.
• Support smooth handover to operations and maintenance teams.
• Reporting & Leadership
• Provide regular progress reports to Project Head
• Lead and mentor site engineers and supervisors.
• Participate in project review meetings, audits, and risk assessments
  
  
  

The Person:

• Educational Qualifications & Experience
• B.E/ B-Tech in Mechanical Engineer with reputed institute with 8-11 years of experience in Mechanical Project Execution.
• Technical Skills: (Preferred)
• Strong exposure to chemical, fertilizer, pharma, refinery, or process plant projects
• Experience in greenfield projects preferred
• Other Skills:
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
• Expertise in piping engineering and site execution
• Contract management and cost control
• Familiar with LN Software and SAP PM
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
