Purpose of the Role

The DGM/GM – India Renewables will lead civil and structural engineering design, review, and technical governance for utility‑scale Solar PV and Wind power projects. The role ensures that all engineering deliverables meet global standards of quality, safety, cost efficiency, and timely execution—supporting both tendering and full‑cycle project development.

Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Design Leadership

  • Lead civil and structural engineering for Solar and Wind projects, including PV/Wind farms, substations, transmission line structures, trenches, access roads, fencing, and foundations.
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering designs, drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications in alignment with IS/IEC/ASTM/BIS and international standards.
  • Review and interpret soil investigation reports, geotechnical assessments, hydrology studies, and foundation designs for both Solar and Wind applications.
  • Validate structural design calculations for piles, buildings (control rooms, inverter rooms), substation structures, drainage systems, and boundary walls.
  • Conduct structural stability assessments for MMS, WTG foundations, and transmission line towers.

Project Execution & Governance

  • Coordinate closely with EPC contractors, design consultants, and internal teams to optimize designs and ensure engineering excellence.
  • Conduct site visits, technical audits, and quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide value‑engineering solutions to enhance constructability, optimize cost, and improve long‑term asset reliability—especially during bid/tender phases.
  • Support the tendering team with engineering inputs, technical evaluations, and estimation for competitive bidding.

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve design issues and drive project timelines.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring consistent technical standards across projects.
  • Uphold HSE compliance and regulatory norms across all engineering and execution stages.

Qualification, Skills & ExperienceEducation

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
  • M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engineering (Preferred)

Experience

  • 5–15 years of experience in civil & structural engineering for renewable energy projects (Solar & Wind).

Technical Expertise

  • Strong command over:
    • Civil & structural design for utility‑scale renewables
    • Geotechnical investigations
    • RCC and steel structure design
    • MMS design and review
  • Proficiency in software tools: STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, MS Project/Primavera
Standards & Codes

  • Deep familiarity with IS 456, IS 800, IS 875, IS 1893, IEC, ASCE, AISC and relevant Middle East local codes.
