Job Purpose: Incharge - Protection is responsible for managing site activities related to the implementation, operation, and maintenance of protection systems. The role ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, fault management to optimize the reliability and performance of protection systems.
Responsibilities
Site Management of Protection Systems:
Oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection systems at the site level, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and operational requirements.
Monitor system performance to ensure optimal functionality and provide immediate technical support when required.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery, installation, and quality assurance of protection equipment.
Fault Identification And Management
Lead the on-ground team to promptly identify, analyze, and resolve faults or failures in protection systems to ensure minimal downtime.
Implement root cause analysis techniques and provide insights to the Lead - Protection for system improvements and upgrades.
Maintain detailed logs of incidents, resolutions, and preventive measures, ensuring compliance with organizational protocols.
Safety And Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all protection systems adhere to applicable national and international safety standards and regulatory frameworks.
Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Ensure all documentation related to safety and compliance is maintained and updated as per company and regulatory requirements.
Coordination And Reporting
Serve as the primary point of contact for protection system-related activities at the site, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide regular updates and reports on the status of protection systems, including performance metrics, incident reports, and compliance status.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, safety, and procurement for seamless project execution.
Optimization Of Protection Systems
Identify opportunities for improving the performance and reliability of protection systems by integrating advanced technologies and best practices.
Support the Lead - Protection in the development and execution of system enhancement plans, including technical upgrades and process optimizations.

Educational Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Strong academic foundation in power systems, metering, and communication systems. In-depth knowledge of metering standards, protocols, and data management.
Work Experience
10+ years of experience in metering and grid integration for power systems, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
Proven track record in leading metering teams, managing metering projects, and ensuring grid compliance. Strong understanding of power market regulations, tariffs, and commercial agreements.
