Position Summary: Senior Sales & Business Leader with extensive years of experience driving revenue growth, market expansion, and organizational profitability in engineering and industrial solutions. Proven track record of partnering with promoters and top management to translate corporate vision into executable strategies. Adept at P&L ownership, cross-functional leadership, market diversification, and building scalable sales organizations. Strong blend of techno-commercial expertise and people leadership, with exposure to complex, high-value projects across multiple industries and geographies.
Position Description
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Executive Responsibilities
- Partnering with the Managing Director / CEO in formulating and executing corporate strategy, annual operating plans, and long-term growth roadmaps.
- Driving top-line and bottom-line performance, aligning sales, pricing, collections, and cost optimization initiatives with organizational goals.
- Providing strategic input to the Board / Senior Management on market trends, competitive landscape, capacity utilization, and investment decisions.
- Translating strategic objectives into measurable KPIs across sales, marketing, and regional operations.
- Leading transformation initiatives focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and customer centricity.
- Supporting leadership succession planning, talent development, and organizational capability building.
Business & Operational Leadership
- P&L Ownership (Regional): Accountable for revenue targets, contribution margins, working capital, and receivables management.
- Market Expansion: Identifying new industry segments, high-growth accounts, and geographic expansion opportunities to diversify revenue streams.
- Order Book & Execution Oversight: Ensuring healthy order inflow, prioritization of large projects, and coordination with manufacturing for timely execution.
- Risk Management: Evaluating commercial, contractual, and credit risks; approving deviations within authority limits.
- Policy & Governance Support: Assisting in formulation of sales policies, pricing frameworks, and delegation of authority matrices.
People & Culture Leadership
- Building and leading high-performance sales and business development teams across multiple locations.
- Coaching senior managers and frontline leaders to strengthen leadership pipeline.
- Driving a culture of accountability, ethical business practices, and customer-first mindset.
- Facilitating collaboration between Sales, Operations, Finance, SCM, and Engineering teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Managing relationships with key customers, consultants, EPC contractors, and strategic partners.
- Acting as senior management interface for critical negotiations, dispute resolution, and long-term contracts.
- Coordinating with external stakeholders including auditors, vendors, and industry bodies when required.
Change & Growth Initiatives
• Leading sales transformation initiatives including territory restructuring, forecasting systems, CRM
usage, and performance dashboards.
- Driving product positioning and value-selling strategies for premium and customized solutions.
- Supporting digital adoption and ERP-based reporting for improved decision-making.
Project Leadership
- Lead end-to-end execution of complex civil and infrastructure projects with full responsibility for planning, coordination, resource management, execution, and project delivery.
- Oversee project implementation with complete P&L accountability, ensuring cost control, profitability, and timely completion of project milestones.
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensure alignment with project timelines, and enforce high construction standards throughout all stages.
- Oversee all phases of civil and structural construction at the project site. Ensure works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and technical guidelines.
- Conduct site inspections, review workmanship, and verify material quality. Provide technical guidance, resolve site issues, and optimize construction methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- B. Tech / BE in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Engineering.
- MBA / PGDM in Sales, Marketing, Strategy, or Operations from a reputed institute (preferred).
- 18–25+ years of progressive leadership experience in engineering-driven B2B organizations.
- Proven track record in senior leadership roles such as Business Head, Executive Director, VP/AVP – Sales & Operations, or equivalent.
- Mandatory experience in industrial products / engineered systems such as:
- Cooling Towers, HVAC, Heat Exchangers
- Power, Chemicals, Industrial Equipment, EPC / Project-based environments
- Demonstrated P&L ownership with responsibility for revenue, margins, working capital, and receivables.
- Strong exposure to large, complex, high-value projects involving consultants, EPC contractors, and end customers.
- Experience working closely with Promoters / MD / CEO / Board, translating strategic vision into execution.
