We are looking for a meticulous and technically-skilled QA Automation Engineer to be the guardian of quality for our high-performance IoT platform. You will take end-to-end ownership of the testing process for our web, mobile, and desktop applications, with a strong focus on building a world-class automation framework. The ideal candidate is an engineer with a passion for quality who wants to write code that ensures our product is stable, performant, and reliable. Job Description
We are looking for a meticulous and technically-skilled QA Automation Engineer to be the guardian of quality for our high-performance IoT platform. You will take end-to-end ownership of the testing process for our web, mobile, and desktop applications, with a strong focus on building a world-class automation framework. The ideal candidate is an engineer with a passion for quality who wants to write code that ensures our product is stable, performant, and reliable. This is a critical role where you will have a direct, real-world impact on product excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive QA strategy that includes both automated and manual testing.
- Design, build, and maintain a robust automation framework for our React-based web and mobile applications using tools like Cypress, or similar new-age alternatives.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code for automated UI, API, and integration tests.
- Perform thorough, user-centric manual and exploratory testing on new features to catch issues and fit them into the automated testing framework.
- Write, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts, including running in CI/CD pipeline.
- Identify, document, and meticulously track bugs and regressions in a bug-tracking system, e.g. Asana.
- Take primary ownership of API testing for our Node.js microservices, ensuring data integrity and contract adherence.
- Perform non-functional testing, including performance, load, and security testing, to ensure our platform meets its SLAs.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements, clarify ambiguities, and ensure testability from the start of the development cycle.
- B.Tech. degree or higher educational qualification.
- 2+ years of experience in a dedicated a QA Automation role, Or, 2+ years of experience as a Frontend or Full-Stack Developer in a production environment with a strong interest in testing and quality.
- Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, methodologies, and the software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, with JavaScript/TypeScript being highly preferred.
- Proven experience in writing, executing, and maintaining automated tests using a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework (e.g., Cypress, Playwright).
- Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or directly within an automation framework.
- An exceptional eye for detail and a passion for finding elusive bugs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with a modern automation framework (e.g.,Cypress, Playwright, Appium).
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Basic knowledge of SQL to perform data validation in databases.
- Knowledge of IoT data and related technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools.
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects to successful business outcomes.
