Job Description

Position: PostgreSQL DBA cum Developer Experience: 8+ Years Location: Jaipur (onsite) Environment: PostgreSQL on Linux / openSUSE About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced PostgreSQL DBA cum Developer with strong expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and managing very large databases (1?2 TB). The ideal candidate will be proficient in TimescaleDB , advanced PostgreSQL tools, and hands-on experience in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting large-scale database systems. Key Responsibilities Administer and manage PostgreSQL databases on Linux/openSUSE environments. Design and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Perform database performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and partitioning . Manage and optimize very large datasets (1?2 TB). Work extensively with TimescaleDB for time-series data. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance issues. Implement backup, recovery, replication, and high availability strategies. Collaborate with application developers to optimize schema and queries. Ensure database integrity, security, and compliance . Automate repetitive DBA tasks using scripts and tools. Required Skills & Qualifications 8+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration and development . Strong knowledge of performance optimization for large-scale datasets (1?2 TB). Expertise in TimescaleDB and PostgreSQL toolkits. Solid understanding of normalization, indexing, and query execution plans . Experience in Linux/openSUSE environments . Proven ability to handle large data volumes (300 GB+ to multi-TB) . Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Good to Have Experience with replication, sharding, and partitioning for high availability. Exposure to NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Redis) alongside PostgreSQL. Familiarity with cloud-hosted PostgreSQL (AWS RDS, Azure, GCP) .
