Database Administrator

Serve as a Senior Database Administrator providing core database administrative, innovation, support, database infrastructure and architecture design. Position requires the ability to provide on-call, after-hours/weekend support, when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Production databases 24X7 running support, and database daily operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Database issues.
• Database schema designing and assessments.
• Database configuration and performance tuning.
• Working with AWS to keep the database in latest patching and version.
• Day to Day database monitoring and performance analyst.
• Provide the database technology service for new project developments.
• SQL Tuning and Optimization of newly develop and existing applications
• Database recovery / duplication / restore by application requests.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration is a strict requirement.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing other mainstream database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift, or MySQL)
• including version upgrades and large-scale data migrations.
• Experienced in Database infrastructure, architecture design and failover/recovery execution.
• Experienced in AWS RDS or other major cloud platforms (e.g., GCP/Azure)
• Experienced in executing and writing Database PL/SQL in the most efficient way
• Expert-level proficiency in database optimization and performance tuning for high-concurrency environments.
• Experience with backup and restore, table space allocation/management, managing the overall health and status of the database, managing the database schema, creating triggers and stored procedures, monitoring the database alert logs and resolving database-related issues.
• Must have experience in configuring on-promised database in Linux
• Must have experience with database product troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Able to communicate in English and Chinese in view of business requirements (no requirement on reading or writing in Chinese)
• Partake in meetings to give advice and recommendations

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Oracle products such as, Oracle GoldenGate, Real Application Clusters, Application Server, Replication and Streams
• Experience with other database products such as AWS S3, AWS Redshift, etc.
• Working knowledge of J2EE architecture and an understanding of object-oriented modeling languages such as Java.
• Experience in system accreditation using proxy users, virtual private database technology, label security and other database security.
• Familiar with technologies related to high volume data handling and ingestion and high data rate extraction with integrity checking and indexing.
• Knowledge in data warehousing

Required Education (including Major):

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Database Administration, CIS or related Technical major.
