As we scale, we require a strong Database Administrator (DBA) to ensure reliability, performance, and security across our data systems. Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator who has deep expertise across MongoDB, MySQL, and OpenSearch . You will be responsible for database design, performance tuning, monitoring, scaling, backup/restore processes, and ensuring high availability for production workloads. Key Responsibilities Database Management Administer, configure, and optimize MongoDB , MySQL , and OpenSearch clusters. Ensure database performance, reliability, and maintain uptime SLAs. Implement indexing, sharding, replication, and partitioning strategies. Performance & Optimization Monitor system performance and optimize queries, indexes, and storage. Troubleshoot slow queries, bottlenecks, and resource-intensive operations. Conduct capacity planning and performance benchmarking. Security & Compliance Implement database security policies, access controls, and encryption. Ensure proper backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies. Maintain audit logs, compliance standards, and secure data handling. Automation & Monitoring Build and maintain monitoring dashboards for database health. Automate routine tasks using scripts (Python/Shell) or DevOps tools. Work closely with DevOps to improve CI/CD database integration. Collaboration Work with backend, AI, and product teams to support data requirements. Assist developers with query optimization, schema design, and migrations. Support real-time search, analytics, and indexing via OpenSearch. Required Skills & Experience 3?5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Data Engineer . Strong hands-on experience with: MongoDB (replica sets, sharding, performance tuning) MySQL (schema design, indexing, query optimization) OpenSearch / Elasticsearch (indexing, mappings, analyzers, clusters) Experience with Linux , Shell scripting , Docker/Kubernetes . Strong understanding of backup/restore, HA setups, and failover strategies. Knowledge of monitoring tools: Prometheus , Grafana , OpenSearch Dashboards , etc. Ability to troubleshoot production issues efficiently. Good to Have Experience in high-scale SaaS or real-time data platforms. Knowledge of Redis, Kafka, or other message/ caching systems. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), especially managed database services. Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL, or analytics use cases.
