Your Role

• We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Scientist to join our team at Philips. In this role, you will be the driving force behind automating critical workflows and leveraging advanced AI, Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) technologies to extract meaningful insights from large, complex datasets. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy, ensuring that our data-driven solutions solve real-world problems and meet the deep needs of our end-users and customers.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

Workflow Automation & Data Engineering

• Automate Processes: Lead the automation of Excel-based tasks and broader business workflows utilizing Python.
• Data Pipelines: Establish, execute, and optimize robust workflows to accurately prepare and process large, complex data sets for analysis.
• Operational Excellence: Apply strict operational excellence in execution, championing continuous improvement and maintaining a relentless focus on data and code quality.
• Advanced Analytics & AI Modeling
• Insight Generation: Create value and business impact by delivering validated, actionable insights derived from advanced technologies.
• Model Development: Formulate hypotheses and apply state-of-the-art AI, ML, and DL techniques to test them.
• Project Scoping: Expertly elicit the scope, purpose, and expected minimum quality thresholds for all new AI models prior to development.
• Business Strategy & Problem Solving
• Customer-Centric Solutions: Solve complex business-related problems using highly data-driven techniques, grounded in a deep understanding of end-user and customer needs.
• Strategic Roadmaps: Collaborate closely with management and business stakeholders to contribute to overarching innovation and data management strategies.
• Competency Building: Build new technical competencies—or extend existing ones—that have the potential to drive significant, measurable value to the business through applied data science.
• Leadership & Continuous Learning
• Internal Representation: Act as a key ambassador, representing Philips internally on one or more competency domains within AI and Data Science.
• Industry Expertise: Keep strictly abreast of technical knowledge by studying and implementing state-of-the-art techniques and development tools.
• Community Engagement: Actively participate in educational opportunities, communities of practice, read professional publications, and maintain a strong personal network in the data science space.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Econometrics, Articial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python programming, specifically for automating workflows, manipulating data, and replacing manual Excel processes.
• Proven experience applying AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning techniques to real-world business problems.
• Experience handling, processing, and interpreting large, complex datasets.
• Strong ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear AI model scopes and quality thresholds.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business management

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
