Job Overview: CLOSELY WORK WITH BACKUP TEAM AND FUNCTIONAL STAKEHOLDERS TO MANAGE DISASTER RECOVERY The Technology Specialist applies their conceptual knowledge of Technology and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Technology problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Technology Specialist understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Lead the design and deployment of Rubrik backup and recovery solutions across on-prem, cloud (Azure/AWS), and hybrid environments Define long-term data protection strategies aligned with business continuity and compliance requirements Evaluate and recommend enhancements to existing backup architectures to improve scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency Configure Rubrik clusters, SLA domains, replication policies, archival targets, and retention settings Manage daily backup operations, monitor job health, and proactively resolve failures or performance bottlenecks Ensure seamless protection of VMware virtual machines, databases (SQL, Oracle), NetApp NAS shares, M365 cloud-native workloads and Azure machines Design and implement scripts to automate Rubrik backup, restore, and reporting workflows Build custom workflows for policy enforcement, compliance checks, and alerting Utilize Rubrik REST APIs and SDKs to integrate with external platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, monitoring tools, Azure, AWS) Develop automation for hybrid cloud backup operations Utilize GraphQL for Rubrik automation Troubleshoot and optimize existing scripts for performance and reliability Maintain detailed documentation of scripts, workflows, and processes Ensure adherence to security and least privilege principles Implement and manage Rubrik DSPM to continuously assess and improve the security posture of sensitive data across environments Identify and classify sensitive data (e.g., PII, PHI, financial records) using Rubrik?s data discovery capabilities Monitor data exposure risks and enforce policies to reduce attack surfaces and ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS Leverage Rubrik?s Data Threat Analytics to detect anomalies, ransomware indicators, and unauthorized access patterns Analyze threat intelligence reports and correlate findings with backup data to identify potential breaches Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to respond to threats and initiate recovery workflows Implement encryption, role-based access controls, and immutability features to safeguard data against ransomware and unauthorized access Participate in internal and external audits, providing evidence of backup compliance and recovery capabilities Design and test disaster recovery plans using Rubrik?s Live Mount, Instant Recovery, and CloudOut features Conduct regular DR drills and simulate failover scenarios to validate recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) Collaborate with business units to prioritize critical workloads and define recovery tiers Maintain comprehensive documentation of backup configurations, recovery procedures, and change logs Stay current with Rubrik product updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies in data protection Essential Qualifications and Education: 6+ years of experience in rubrik backup tool Degree in engineering, computer science or related field Rubrik certified system engineer (rcse) certification Preferred Qualifications and Education: Deep understanding of rubrik architecture, including sla domains, replication, archival, and live mount capabilities Hands on experience on configuring & managing backups of various os system, oracle db, sql db, netapp volumes, sybase servers, o365 services Proven experience with rubrik dspm (data security posture management) and data threat analytics Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (vmware vsphere, microsoft hyper-v) Experience with cloud platforms (azure, aws), including cloud-native backup strategies and integrations Strong proficiency in powershell and python scripting Hands-on experience with rubrik apis (rest api, sdks) Solid understanding of rubik backup and recovery concepts in enterprise and hybrid cloud environments Familiarity with json, yaml, and api authentication (oauth, tokens) Experience with automation frameworks and ci/cd pipelines is a plus Familiarity with data classification frameworks and sensitive data discovery Experience implementing backup solutions that meet compliance standards such as gdpr, hipaa, pci-dss, and iso 27001 Understanding of encryption, immutability, and role-based access controls in backup environments Demonstrated ability to design and execute dr plans using rubrik?s recovery features Experience conducting dr drills and validating rto/rpo metrics About Us Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
