Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director – Data Privacy to lead and manage enterprise-level privacy programs, regulatory compliance initiatives, and privacy risk management engagements. The role requires strong expertise in global privacy regulations, data protection frameworks, and advisory capabilities to support organizations in building robust privacy governance structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage data privacy and protection programs for clients across industries.
- Design and implement privacy frameworks, policies, and governance models aligned with global standards and regulations.
- Provide advisory on data protection regulations such as GDPR, DPDP Act (India), CCPA, and other global privacy laws.
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), and privacy risk assessments.
- Support organizations in privacy program implementation, maturity assessments, and remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, IT security, and risk teams to ensure privacy by design and privacy by default principles.
- Lead data mapping, data discovery, and records of processing activities (RoPA) initiatives.
- Provide guidance on third-party risk management related to data privacy.
- Develop and deliver privacy awareness programs and training sessions.
- Manage client relationships, oversee project delivery, and mentor junior team members.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of global privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
- Experience in privacy frameworks, privacy governance, and compliance programs.
- Hands-on experience with PIA/DPIA, data mapping, RoPA, and data lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of privacy tools and platforms such as OneTrust, TrustArc, or similar privacy management solutions.
- Understanding of information security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or similar standards.
- Experience in privacy risk management, regulatory compliance, and policy development.
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
Preferred Certifications
- CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT (IAPP certifications)
- ISO 27701 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor
- Other relevant privacy or information security certifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Law, Computer Science, or a related field.
