The opportunity
EY’s global enterprise technology group provides various enabling services (ERP, infrastructure, platforms, service desk) to assist over 300K employees in creating and delivering solutions and services to Fortune 500, privately held and government-like entities.
The Data Scientist will be responsible for leveraging the data lake to drive advanced analytics and predictive modelling initiatives. This role requires a combination of statistical expertise, machine learning knowledge, and the ability to derive insights from large volumes of complex data. The Data Scientist will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and develop data-driven solutions.

The Data Scientist will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and develop data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement modern data architectures using Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
- Build scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Lead the development of enterprise data models, data catalogs, and governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data availability and quality.
- Implement CI/CD for data pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Drive best practices in data engineering, data security, and cloud cost optimization.
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical direction and code reviews.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and jobs in production environments.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 1+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in Azure Data Platform: Data Factory, Data Lake Gen2, Synapse, Databricks, and Azure SQL/SQL MI.
- Proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and scripting languages (Python, Scala).
- Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong DevOps mindset with experience in CI/CD, Terraform, and Git-based development.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology , Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Azure certifications (e.g., DP-203, AZ-305).
- Experience with real-time streaming using Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, or Databricks Structured Streaming.
- Exposure to data governance tools (e.g., Purview, Unity Catalog).
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology
- Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and integration with Azure ML or Databricks ML
