Hiring: Data Engineer ? Mumbai (In-office) Location: Mumbai, India Experience: 5+ years total (minimum 3+ years in Data Engineering) Immediate Joiners Only Excellent English Communication Required About the Role We?re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our fast-growing team in Mumbai. This is a hands-on technical role focused on designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms ? primarily on AWS , with exposure to Azure or GCP considered a plus. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in data engineering best practices , deep knowledge of SQL and cloud services , and prior experience delivering data solutions in BFSI or insurance environments. NOTE : PLEASE APPLY ONLY IF YOU HAVE MINIMUM 5 YEARS OF IT EXPERIENCE & 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN DATA ENGINEERING Key Responsibilities Design and develop robust, scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and transform large datasets from diverse sources. Build and optimize ETL workflows using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, EMR, Redshift, and S3 . Implement data models and warehouse solutions to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence. Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and application teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all stages of the data lifecycle. Monitor and optimize data workflows for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability . Work within BFSI/Insurance data ecosystems to manage sensitive information securely and in compliance with standards. Document designs, maintain reusable code, and contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering practices. What We?re Looking For Experience & Skills: 5+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 3 years in data engineering . Strong expertise in AWS data stack ? Glue, Redshift, S3, EMR, Lambda, Athena. Proficiency in SQL , Python , and ETL toolsets. Experience designing data lakes , data warehouses , and data modeling for analytics workloads. Exposure to Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus. Experience working in BFSI or Insurance analytics or data-driven projects. Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management , and security principles . Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication in English. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
