This role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of DevOps and Data Engineering, enabling data teams to deliver high-quality data products faster and more reliably. You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, and establish operational excellence across our data platforms.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Operations

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP (primary) and AWS, supporting data platform workloads including BigQuery, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, creating reusable modules for data platform resources across multi-cloud environments.
• Implement cloud security best practices, IAM policies, and compliance controls for data infrastructure.
  
  

CI/CD & Automation

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins for data platform deployments, including dbt models, Airflow DAGs, and Terraform configurations.
• Develop automation frameworks for data pipeline orchestration, monitoring, and self-service infrastructure provisioning.
• Create standardized deployment patterns for data engineering teams, enabling faster and safer releases to production.
  
  

DataOps & Observability

• Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, and Grafana for data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Design and maintain observability dashboards in Grafana for real-time visibility into pipeline health, resource utilization, and system performance.
• Establish SLAs, SLIs, and SLOs for data platform services and operational processes.
• Build cost tracking and optimization frameworks for cloud data resources, enabling team-level chargeback and cost visibility.
  
  

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science teams to understand requirements and deliver infrastructure solutions that accelerate their work.
• Mentor team members on DevOps best practices, cloud architecture patterns, and automation techniques.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-sharing resources.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, performance, and developer experience.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services including BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow.
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management across multi-cloud environments.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Working knowledge of data warehouse platforms: BigQuery, Snowflake, and/or Databricks.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus and Grafana for metrics collection, visualization, and alerting.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for automation and tooling.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE).
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• GCP Professional certifications (Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, or DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with AWS data services (Glue, Redshift, Lambda, EventBridge).
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Cloud Composer (Airflow) or Prefect.
• Experience with dbt for data transformation workflows.
• Knowledge of real-time data streaming solutions (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis).
• Experience implementing FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Background in supporting data science models and ML pipelines in production.
• Prior experience migrating workloads from on-premises or legacy platforms to cloud.
