Data Architect
EET Fuels
Job Description
Enterprise Data Architect | UK Refinery Operations | 15+ Years Experience
We're looking for a very senior Data Architect to lead the enterprise data architecture for a UK refinery — defining the standards, governance and blueprint that let a growing Microsoft Fabric platform scale with confidence.
You'll turn business ambition for better insight into well-governed, trusted data products, lead a small architecture team, and bring together operational (OT) and enterprise (IT) data across a safety-critical industrial environment.
What you'll own:
- Enterprise data architecture vision, strategy and roadmap on Microsoft Fabric (& Databricks)
- Translating ambiguous business asks into concrete, well-modelled data use cases
- Enterprise & functional data models, data profiling and source system analysis
- Data governance, standards, cataloguing and metadata — built from the ground up
- OT/IT integration across PI, SCADA, DCS, LIMS and SAP
- A small team of engineers, with a mandate to build their data modelling capability too
What you bring:
- 15+ years in enterprise data architecture, ideally having built a data function from scratch before
- Strong data modelling, profiling and governance fundamentals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (and Databricks preferred)
- Experience with OT/IT integration — oil & gas, energy or manufacturing background strongly preferred
- Proven ability to influence senior/CXO stakeholders and lead a technical team
This is a rare chance to shape how a business uses data from the ground up — with real platform investment, real business appetite, and a mandate to do it right from day one.
