Cybersecurity Analyst I

Responsible for safeguarding and supporting the organization’s technology systems by maintaining secure and reliable networks, systems, and endpoints. Monitors, detects, responds to, and prevents cybersecurity threats. manages email and Office 365 security, vulnerability scanning, patching, and endpoint protection; and administers network switches, firewalls, virtual machines, and related infrastructure. The analyst supports cloud services, backups, disaster recovery, physical security systems, and cybersecurity training.

Responsible for protecting and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure, systems, endpoints, and overall security posture. Monitors, detects, responds to, and prevents cybersecurity threats. Manages phishing tests, email security, Office 365 security and administration, patching, and vulnerability scanning. Supports internal and external penetration testing efforts; and ensures compliance with security best practices and organizational policies. Maintains monitoring systems for network equipment, servers, endpoints, and key services. Manages antivirus and ransomware protection; trains staff on cybersecurity best practices; and assists with creating materials to promote cybersecurity awareness. Continually reviews logs, network traffic, and alerts to proactively identify and mitigate risks, escalating significant incidents as needed. Assist with disaster recovery procedures, participates in software evaluation, and manages aspects of physical security including access control systems and security cameras. Performs daily network administration and maintenance, including configuring and supporting network switches, firewalls, servers, VMs, MFA, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, cellular phones and networks, and Office 365 services. Supports AWS and Azure cloud network environments, troubleshoots connectivity issues, secures endpoints, and maintains network and security operating system backups. The analyst also helps design and implement improvements to network architecture. Stays abreast of current and emerging technologies and security requirements. Works under close supervision. Work is closely managed and works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is performed according to detailed instruction and guidance from the supervisor or senior staff. Exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant matters. Works collaboratively with others. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Bachelor's degree in a related IT area plus one year of relevant experience preferred. Candidates must have strong knowledge of cybersecurity, information systems, and networking, including the ability to monitor, detect, respond to, and prevent security threats. Experience managing Office 365 security, patching, vulnerability scanning, and endpoint protection; and administering network switches, firewalls, servers, virtual machines, DNS, DHCP, MFA, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks is required. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, and basic disaster recovery procedures is essential. Industry certifications such as Security+, Network+, or CCNA are preferred.. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical professionals. Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and responsibility. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.Job performance may require listening, seeing, sitting, talking; occasional reaching, grasping, lifting, handling, pulling or pushing, balancing and carrying of items such as boxes of materials, books, etc. with weights not exceeding 25 pounds; limited walking, standing, stooping, and bending; some irregular hours and long workdays and moderate levels of stress. Job is performed primarily in an office environment with infrequent trips to other offices and limited exposure to weather conditions.
