Job Description
The Society of the Transfiguration is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-minded Full-Time Culinary Team Member to join our caring and close-knit community. Summary
The Culinary Team Member supports the mission of the Society of the Transfiguration by preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals in a clean and safe kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring an excellent dining experience for guests, residents, and staff. Team members must be dependable, flexible, and capable of working both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced setting. Weekend and flexible scheduling is required.
Reporting Structure
The Culinary Team Member reports directly to the Culinary Operations Manager and works in close coordination with other kitchen and dining staff.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Meal Preparation and Service
- Prepare and cook meals from start to finish, following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all meals are presented in a timely, appetizing, and safe manner.
- Maintain awareness of special dietary needs or food allergies.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, food prep areas, and dining spaces after each service.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of food items in compliance with ServSafe and food safety regulations.
- Notify the Culinary Operations Manager of any equipment, facility, safety, and/or maintenance concerns immediately.
- Collaborate with fellow team members and independently to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Communicate regularly, clearly, and respectfully with coworkers and supervisors.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as needed.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and reliably perform all assigned tasks.
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.
- Report low stock or discrepancies to the Culinary Operations Manager.
- Reports for duty at the times as indicated by schedule or direct communication from the Dining Services Manager.
- May be asked to obtain Level 1 Food Handler training if not already in possession of equivalent or greater food safety certificate.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and hospitality in all interactions.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Culinary Operations Manager.
- Documented Culinary Training preferred; current ServSafe certification preferred.
- One (1) year of experience in a commercial kitchen or food service/prep setting preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in team environments and working towards a common goal.
- Access to reliable transportation.

- Sensory Requirements: Clear vision, hearing, and speech for communication and safe food handling.
