Job Purpose

To evaluate, underwrite, and approve credit proposals for anchors, vendors, and dealers under the Supply Chain Finance business at Godrej Finance Ltd, ensuring prudent risk assessment and compliance with credit policies. The role is responsible for enabling business growth through timely and accurate credit decisions while safeguarding portfolio quality and regulatory adherence.

Role

Credit Assessment & Underwriting

  • Conduct detailed appraisal of anchors, vendors, and dealer/distributor credit proposals.
  • Perform financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, and risk profiling.
  • Evaluate sectoral exposure, repayment capacity, and collateral (if applicable).
  • Recommend/approve credit proposals within delegated authority and escalate as required.

Policy & Compliance Adherence

  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, product programs, and RBI guidelines.
  • Apply risk scorecards, early warning indicators, and structured frameworks in credit evaluations.
  • Ensure documentation, KYC, and regulatory requirements are met for each credit decision.

Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Track portfolio performance for assigned anchors and their ecosystems.
  • Identify early stress signals and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support credit review, renewals, and limit setting.
  • Liaise with collections and risk teams for timely intervention.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with business teams to understand anchor/vendor/dealer requirements.
  • Partner with policy and product teams to design credit solutions aligned with market needs.
  • Provide guidance to operations and technology teams for smooth credit workflow execution.

Process Excellence & Digitization

  • Leverage digital underwriting tools, APIs, and automated scorecards for faster decisions.
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce TAT and enhance efficiency.
  • Support digitization of credit lifecycle to enable scalable growth.

Qualification & experience

  • CA / MBA (Finance/Risk/Banking) or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years of experience in credit underwriting within Banking/NBFC/Fintech, preferably in Supply Chain Finance, SME, or Commercial Lending.
  • Strong financial analysis and credit appraisal skills.
  • Knowledge of SCF structures, working capital financing, and sector-specific risks.
  • Exposure to digital underwriting platforms preferred.

  • Assistant Manager / Manager handling vendor/dealer financing credit.
  • Risk/Underwriting Specialist in working capital finance or bill discounting
