Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Contracts Engineer specializing in Civil Engineering, based in Bengaluru. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and managing contracts for civil and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include developing accurate technical documentation, analyzing project requirements, identifying risks, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery within budget. The role also involves coordinating with contractors, tracking progress, and overseeing civil engineering works such as planning and stormwater management.


Qualifications

Job Description –

Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and project specifications.
  • Maintain proper contract documentation and records.

Tendering & Procurement Support

  • Assist in preparation of BOQs and tender documents.
  • Evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotations.
  • Participate in technical and commercial negotiations.

Variations & Claims

  • Identify and document variation works.
  • Prepare and submit variation claims with proper backup.
  • Handle extension of time (EOT) claims and dispute documentation.

Cost Control & Reporting

  • Monitor project budget vs. actual cost.
  • Support cost forecasting and cash flow tracking.
  • Prepare periodic commercial reports for management

Coordination

  • Liaise with project managers, consultants, legal team, and finance.
  • Attend project meetings related to contractual matters.
  • Support dispute resolution and arbitration processes if required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3–8 years of experience in contracts/commercial role in construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQ, rate analysis, and contract conditions.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and project management tools.
