Global Business Consulting (GBC) is a part of the new American Express Global Business Travel Company. GBC brings the talent, tools, and management consulting acumen needed to help manage companies’ T&E spend and maximize the return on their investments in employee travel and other areas of indirect cost. Among our offerings, we provide T&E strategy, strategic sourcing, program optimization and change management. Our specialized expertise includes: T&E policy, sourcing and supplier management, change management and compliance management, business intelligence, on-going travel category management, payment and expense reimbursement management, and related business process outsourcing (BPO) best practices.

The consulting analyst will be an integral part of an engagement team focused on supporting the data and analytical needs of the team. The consulting analyst must have the ability to interpret data, create complex data analysis, produce client facing presentations, identify trends/gaps and create insightful recommendations for presenting to Consulting Managers and clients.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Subject matter expertise and programming level knowledge in required technology such as SQL, Access, Alteryx and Excel

Experience with newer Business Intelligence solutions such as Birst, Tableau, QlikView, SAP Crystal Reporting, Hadoop, etc.

Bachelor’s degree where course work could include: statistics, travel, business administration, finance, decision sciences, economics, and mathematics OR minimum 2 years of business travel or consulting experience

Advanced Access and Excel skills, including the writing of queries, macros, data base builds and creating efficiencies in data analytics

Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening ability, written presentation skills and relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and external clients at all levels

Ability to create models and scenarios using all levels of data

Energetic, curious and creative

Motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction

Strong business and financial acumen

Experience in working with clients

Highly client-focused with the ability to demonstrate attention to detail and focus on quality

Excellent time and project management skills required – including the ability to set priorities and work in a fast paced, multi-project environment and meet deadlines

Strategic thinker with superior problem-solving skills
