Construction Manager - Industrial

Position Overview

Manage and oversee industrial construction projects from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Lead cross-functional teams while maintaining safety compliance and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management Execute project plans, schedules, and budgets for industrial facilities including manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, and processing facilities. Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project delivery. Monitor progress against milestones and implement corrective actions when needed.

Team Leadership Lead project teams including superintendents, foremen, and field personnel. Conduct regular project meetings, provide clear direction, and ensure effective communication across all stakeholders. Mentor junior staff and promote professional development within the team.

Quality and Safety Management Enforce safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards on all job sites. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections. Ensure all work meets quality specifications, building codes, and industry standards. Manage quality control processes and coordinate inspections with regulatory authorities.

Financial Management Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and manage change orders. Review and approve subcontractor invoices and material purchases. Prepare cost reports and forecasts for senior management and clients. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

Client Relations Serve as primary point of contact for clients throughout project lifecycle. Provide regular project updates, address concerns promptly, and ensure client satisfaction. Manage expectations and communicate any project impacts or changes effectively.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 7-10 years of construction experience with at least 5 years in industrial projects. Previous experience managing projects valued at $10M+ preferred.

Technical Skills Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment specific to industrial applications. Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.

Certifications and Licenses Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites. OSHA 30-hour certification required. PMP, CCM, or similar project management certification preferred. First Aid/CPR certification a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with design-build and fast-track project delivery methods. Knowledge of LEED and sustainable construction practices. Previous experience with industrial clients in manufacturing, logistics, or energy sectors. Strong negotiation skills and contract administration experience.

Working Conditions

Position requires frequent travel to construction sites and client facilities. Must be comfortable working in industrial environments including manufacturing plants and outdoor construction sites. Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends during critical project phases.
