Communications is becoming an increasingly strategic function for the firm, strengthening our thought leadership, reputation, and portfolio support across Southeast Asia.

What's the role about?

We are looking for a passionate Communications Associate to join our team and work closely with our Communications team to help execute our strategy across content, media, events, and portfolio support.

You will play a key role in ensuring consistent Communications execution across channels and in leading certain initiatives or projects.

• Storyteller. You have a strong instinct for what makes a compelling story and enjoy translating complex ideas into clear, engaging content
• Detail-oriented communicator. You have strong writing and communications skills, with excellent attention to detail and a high bar for quality
• Self-starter. You adapt well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines without compromising quality
• Curious learner. You are eager to learn about VC, startups, and emerging tech trends
• Collaborative. You enjoy working with different teams and supporting multiple stakeholders.

Here’s what you can look forward to everyday:

Content Creation & Channels Management

• Independently manage workflows across functions, including content publishing, social media, newsletters, SEO, and website
• Write clear and engaging content aligned with Wavemaker’s vision and mission, brand, tone of voice, and editorial standards
• Coordinate content production timelines and ensure outputs meet quality standards
• Identify opportunities to improve content and engagement
  
  
  

Public & Media Relations

• Support and lead public relations efforts, including media relations and external communications
• Build and maintain relationships with media, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders locally and beyond Southeast Asia
• Draft and manage PR materials including press releases, media pitches, and briefing documents with minimal supervision
• Monitor industry developments and media coverage and recommend proactive PR opportunities
• Support crisis communications and reputation management as needed
  
  
  

Events

• Execute communications campaigns across channels, including events and media
• Draft events and media materials, including event agendas and press releases with minimal supervision
• Secure speaking opportunities, and develop and maintain relationships with media and external partners
  
  
  

Project Ownership & Performance Tracking

• Lead communications initiatives or projects with minimal supervision
• Track and report performance metrics and share insights with the team
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver communications outputs in timely manner
  
  
  

Portfolio Support & Internal Comms

• Support initiatives involving portfolio companies, including PR launches and storytelling projects
• Support planning and execution of internal communications initiatives
