Cloud Engineer

Role Overview:

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure. This role works closely with development, security, and operations teams to support cloud-based applications and services across the organization's technology stack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Monitor system performance, availability, and cost, implementing optimizations as needed
• Manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment processes
• Implement and maintain security best practices, including IAM policies, network security, and compliance requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues in production environments
• Collaborate with development teams to support containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and microservices architectures
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure incidents
• Document infrastructure architecture, processes, and runbooks
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services to improve efficiency and reliability

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Cloud certification (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, etc.)
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Education & Certifications (Preferred):

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST)
