Job Summary
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (GI & Hepatology) is a research and patient care section in the Department of Internal Medicine. This position will support the growing clinical research projects of the GI/Hepatology Clinical Trials Unit. The Clinical Research Coordinator will perform essential functions of study implementation for multiple studies per protocol, including (but not limited to) recruitment, screening, enrollment, scheduling, conducting clinic visits, data collection, participant tracking, lab specimen collection and processing, drug accountability, monitor visits, study closeouts assisting with administrative requirements, essential study documents, and other tasks as assigned. Detailed written and oral communication required with patients, physicians, and research staff. Careful record keeping and flexibility are important.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload a license and/or certification if required for the position
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience or education
- Prior experience as an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator
- Prior experience working directly with patients in a clinical research or study environment
- Prior experience managing large volumes of information/records and maintaining it, determining workload priorities
- Analytical skills to evaluate information, practices, and procedures to formulate logical and objective conclusions and make recommendations for effective solutions
- Ability to maintain close attention to detail and accuracy when handling clinical research data and regulatory documents
- Knowledge of ethical principles and federal and state regulations governing the participation of human subjects in biomedical research (i.e., GCP guidelines, HIPAA, institutional policies, and SOPs for conduct of human subject research)
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology, and the ability to interpret physicians' notes, medical records, laboratory, and scan results
- Administrative skills and ability to exercise good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness in making decisions
- Ability to manage organized filing systems
- Organizational skills in setting priorities, following through on assigned tasks, and adhering to timelines
- Possess mathematical abilities to perform calculations involving basic accounting
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and the use of the Internet
- Ability to self-train to quickly learn new computer programs as needed
- Possesses strong quantitative skills to perform and verify basic accounting calculations with a high degree of accuracy
- Experience with human specimen processing techniques and specimen shipping procedures
