Civil 3D Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Civil 3D Specialist with strong expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) for infrastructure projects including roads, highways, land development, utilities, drainage systems, airports, and commercial developments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating intelligent 3D BIM models using Autodesk Civil 3D, ensuring compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), project standards, and client requirements. The role also involves multidisciplinary coordination, quality assurance, documentation management, and supporting project delivery from design through construction.

Key Responsibilities:

Civil 3D Modeling & Infrastructure Design

• Develop and manage accurate 3D BIM models using Autodesk Civil 3D for:
• Roads and highways (alignments, profiles, corridors)
• Land development
• Site grading and earthworks
• Stormwater and drainage systems
• Wet and dry utilities (water supply, sewer, stormwater, gas, electrical, telecom)
• Airport and infrastructure projects
• Interpret and convert 2D engineering drawings into intelligent 3D BIM models.
• Perform surface modeling, corridor modeling, grading, drainage analysis, and earthwork calculations.
• Produce:
• Plan, Profile & Cross-Section Drawings
• Shop Drawings
• Construction Documentation
• Quantity Take-Offs (QTO)
• Volume Calculations
• As-Built Drawings and Models

BIM Coordination & Quality Assurance

• Coordinate with Architecture, Structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure seamless BIM integration.
• Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks.
• Ensure compliance with:
• BIM Execution Plans (BEP)
• Project standards
• Client requirements
• ISO 19650 standards (preferred)
• Perform regular model quality checks and maintain BIM data integrity.
• Support Level of Development (LOD 200–500) requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and resolve design/modeling issues.

Documentation & Project Management

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, grading plans, utility plans, drainage layouts, earthwork drawings, and project specifications.
• Manage RFIs and issue tracking using Revizto, BIM 360, or Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
• Maintain project documentation and update models based on design revisions.
• Track project changes and ensure all deliverables remain coordinated and up to date.
• Produce and maintain As-Built documentation.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, BIM Coordinators, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Mentor junior modelers and support knowledge sharing within the team.
• Automate workflows using Dynamo, Civil 3D tools, or Python (preferred).
• Contribute to improving BIM standards, modeling workflows, and project efficiency.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Diploma or Associate Degree in Drafting/Design will be an added advantage.

Professional Experience

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Civil 3D modeling for infrastructure projects.
• Experience in roads, highways, utilities, grading, drainage, and land development projects.
• Strong understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience managing documentation, RFIs, and BIM collaboration platforms.
